ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Natalia Ashton (BS (Hons), certNA, dipNT, certCN, vet-cert Pet Nutrition Coach, cert Animal Welfare & Behaviour, cert Dog Behaviour) is a freelance writer, nutritionist, dog groomer and photographer. She has lived with dogs for 30 years, half of which have been spent in the company of English cocker spaniels, the breed that became her true love and passion.
Natalia's journey began when, aged 11, she decided to have a dog and enrolled in a canine study course to learn puppy care, canine diet, psychology, anatomy and physiology, first aid, grooming, training and handling skills.
Even though she qualified and worked as a nutritionist for a number of years running a busy practice, she never stopped learning about dogs to ensure that her own live the best life.
After tragically losing her cocker spaniel Oscar to haemolytic anaemia, she made a leap of faith by closing her practice and fully focusing on dogs, studying canine clinical nutrition, animal welfare and dog behaviour. In addition to her previous degrees in economics, human nutrition and English, she received certificates in Animal Welfare & Behaviour, Canine Nutrition and Dog Emotions and Cognition and is a vet-certified Pet Nutrition Coach. She provides nutritional advice for dog owners and regularly attends lectures and seminars on the subject of canine health and nutrition to stay up-to-date with research and scientific developments.
